Why ‘Easter’ Exists At All…

  May 3, 2016

…it’s for this reason alone:

To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. ” {Luke 2:4-11 KJV}

https://i1.wp.com/www.clker.com/cliparts/9/d/a/2/1223613120608261365shokunin_easter_egg_single.svg.thumb.png  When it comes to genuine miracles, big and small, I think we need to first believe they are possible, and that it’s our heavenly Father who brings them about.  And, to realize that they occur to help strengthen someone’s faith in Him, or to help create faith in Him, inside of someone, due to what happens.

King David said this about God and His mercy:

The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger and of great mercy.” [Psalm 145:8 KJV]

I know many people seem to think one of two things about God[or both, God help them]:

1] That He allows suffering for no good reason, and He could help everyone, but He doesn’t want to.

2]That it’s so puzzling as to why God just allows people to suffer, yet He could prevent all suffering if He really cared.

https://i0.wp.com/www.clker.com/cliparts/W/E/A/e/X/I/easter-egg-green-th.png    Both ideas are based on people’s lack of understanding, yet they will never understand if they refuse to trust in God and in His goodness and perfection, and in His wisdom that’s based on far more knowledge, and understanding that I believe is  impossible for us to ever possess.  He is also working out this gigantic plan that involves all of us–ALL of us–and, He also realizes that this popular saying is basically true:

“What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger!”

Because human suffering is the only suffering that is worthwhile, and can be helpful and useful in helping to build character in us, and build in us strength of character as well, etc. It’s because human beings have the ability to UNDERSTAND what is going on and even why, then benefit from that understanding, when animals do not.

https://i1.wp.com/www.clker.com/cliparts/e/6/0/c/1195445519820685918easter_egg_steve_karg_02.svg.thumb.png   It was Jesus who voluntarily paid the price we owe to God due to our sins:  we’ve all lied; we’ve cheated; we’ve stolen; we’ve gossiped; we’ve hated others unjustly; we’ve literally killed people in our own thoughts/hearts just because we’ve  hated them; we’ve coveted what wasn’t ours; we’ve literally committed adultery even if just in our own minds/hearts–and, the list continues on and on–NONE of us are NOT GUILTY–it was Jesus Christ who paid the price for our sins on our behalf–God accepted His paying that price for us, because God would not have accepted anything we might have done to try and make up for our sinfulness. God leveled the penalty of ‘Death’ on the heads of ALL human beings who live beyond the age of awareness.  {All babies and small children go straight to be with God if they die before they can understand what sin actually is]

https://i1.wp.com/www.clker.com/cliparts/3/8/Y/d/G/j/drake-egg-1-th.png  We, as adults, remain condemned to eternal death without Christ as our Lord and Savior.  He LOVES us, He DIED for us, He rose back to life from death and because He did, He can offer us forgiveness with God, and eternal life, through our having Faith in Him, and what He did for us.

To me, miracles are far more than just exciting–they are also faith-affirming.
